This image shows Route 1 as it passes through Saugus Massachusetts. Northbound traffic was backed-up at the time due to a two-alarm fire a the Ferns Motel. At the far left is the famous Hilltop Steak House sign. At the extreme upper left, Route One is visible as it rises a hill into Lynnfield, Massachusetts. The correct answer for this contest is, Mt. Hood Tower - Melrose, MA. It was answered by Hugh Connolly on December 17, just 24 hours after this contest was posted. Hugh is a former Saugus resident now living in Florida. He graduated SHS in 1959.
