Snowy Egrets (Egreta Thula) can be found over much of the East Coast and spends Winters in southern areas. They're commonly seen around salt marshes and inter-tidal swamps.
Black bills and yellow feet are help indentify this species. A plume of feathers on the back of its head is sometimes raised. This egret was spotted near the Saugus River in Saugus Massachusetts. Snowy Egrets feed on mostly fish. |
