Description:
The Old Post Road Orchestra will open its 18th concert season in November, under the direction of Conductor Neal Schermerhorn. Friday evening, November 7th at Wilbraham Middle School on Stony Hill Rd., Wilbraham, Ma. at 7:30P.M. *Concerts are FREE and Open to the Public.* The program will feature highlights from "Broadway On Parade", arranged by Chuck Sayre; Johannes Brahms "Hungarian Dance No. 5"; Scott Joplin's "The Entertainer", and Leroy Anderson's "The Syncopated Clock" and "The Typewriter". The program will also include several other delightful pieces. For the past 17 years, Old Post Road Orchestra has gained in stature and popularity in the Southern Pioneer Valley. The group was founded in 1986 by Malita Brown as an outlet for talented musicians at Wilbraham Academy. It now draws members from various communities in Western Massachusetts. The goal of Old Post Road Orchestra is to bring quality music to neighbors and communities as well as provide a forum for local musicians of all ages. This 40-member orchestra is based in Wilbraham, and rehearsals are held each Wednesday evening at 7:30 P.M. at Stony Hill School on Stony Hill Road.
