Although the dog days of summer tend to be one of the least active periods of the year online, the Saugus forums have been pretty busy lately. Discussions about the upcoming election are already starting in the Saugus political forum, discussions about both the upcoming Saugus Founders' Day and the new soon-to-be-released Saugus book are in the Saugus talk forum, and discussions about summer sports activities are in the Saugus sports forum.

It's not clear why, but recently we've had quite a few people enter bogus events into the Saugus calendar asking questions about various events that may or may not be upcoming. This practice is discouraged for a number of reasons -- the biggest being that since event addition is semi-automated, a query sent that way may not be seen for quite a long time. Anyone with questions about events is far better off posting them to the Saugus forums instead; a question in the forums is far more likely to get a rapid response.

The sequel to a A Gathering of Memories: Saugus 1900-2000 has now gone to the printers. There will be one proof produced next week, and shortly thereafter the book will go into production. Copies should be widely available before Founders' Day.

Fans of the book A Gathering of Memories: Saugus 1900-2000 will be happy to learn that its sequel has finished its final round of editing and will be going to print later this week; we'll keep you informed, but you can also discuss it on the Saugus talk forum.

The Saugus Area Television & Radio Information page was updated today.

The office will be closed today for the holiday. However, the Community Events Calendar, Area Yard Sales Calendar, Saugus Forums, and other like pages will continue to be updated. In particular, both the Saugus Political Forum and the Saugus Miscellaneous Forum have been recently active.
